The Bio of Jason Stanley
Marshall...
Well let me start with the beginning...
The Early Years
I was born and raised in Ocean City, NJ, by William and Judith Marshall. I am
the youngest of eight children. (Hmm, that explains a lot!) The first house I
can remember living in was at 905 5th Street. We were right across from the
amusement park and three houses away from the beach and boardwalk.
We did live in Orlando, FL, when I was in 4th grade and half of 6th and 7th
grades. I am the type of person that embraces change and saw the moves back and
forth as a fun and exciting experience. After these changes of location we
settled back in OC.
I graduated from Ocean City High School in 1995. I enjoy sports and played
soccer, football, wrestling, indoor track, and golf during my high school
career. In middle school and high school I was heavily involved in Young Life,
which is an international youth ministry.
Of course, the next step in life is ... college. I graduated from Catawba
College (a small school in North Carolina) in 1999. I received a Bachelor of
Arts in Information Systems with a concentration in business.
The Change
During my time at college, Young Life seemed like a distant memory as I
indulged in the pleasures of the world. Finally in those dark days one
pivotal event changed the course of my life forever...
...it was November of my senior year of college. That night, I finally
realized that I was guilty of breaking God’s law, and my just punishment was an
eternity of suffering in Hell. But God, by His grace and His great love for me,
sent His son Jesus to suffer and die in my place! Then, through His resurrection
from the dead, he offered me eternal life. All I had to do was repent, and turn
away from my lifestyle of sin, and God forgave me of my sins.
Because of that amazing gift – of knowing I am forgiven and no longer
destined for Hell – my life, on that same night, began to change. Once I finally
esteemed His sacrifice, I was ready to no longer compartmentalize my life. Now I
realize that to live is to live for Christ – to do all things for His glory, and
to do them all to the best of my God-given ability. Without this life-shaping
event, my life would not be the same as it is today, and I would definitely not
be the same person.
The Result
In the years that followed I served as a leader with Young Life and other
youth ministries. I also taught high school Math and Science for six years at a
Christian school. I enjoy serving my local church in any way God has gifted me.
It was while I was serving in youth ministry in my church that I met my
beautiful and wonderful wife Heather.
A Love Story
Heather and I got married on June 10th, 2006. On that day we celebrated with
our FIRST kiss! (Yes, you read that correctly!) You see, ours was not a
"normal" relationship. We were best friends for years, and that friendship
grew into love. We never dated, but one day I shocked her by asking her to
marry me in front of the entire church. After recovering from her shock,
she said yes, and the rest.... is history.
Currently
My latest career has been working as a one-on-one aide with a 6th grade
student. I also recently began internet marketing,
and was one of 12 contestants on the web's first reality show, The Next Internet
Millionaire.
Okay, I'm sure you're tired of reading about me, so I'll save some details
for my blog. That means you'll have to check it out regularly to keep up
with all the latest!
