First ever Christian Internet marketing event - Illuminate Conference

Internet Marketing 5 Comments »

That’s right you read the title correct… the first ever Christian Internet marketing event. The name of the event is “Illuminate Conference”.

I’m sure you know my entrance into the Internet marketing world (if not browse around the site a bit… hint - reality show)  and probably you know my relationship with Christ is my main priority… so I have been excited about combining the 2.

One way I’ll be doing that, I’ll get to another day, the way I want to talk about now came to me after my very first seminar. The BIG Seminar!!! While I was there I met a lot of Christians. I was amazed at how many there were.  I thought to myself “wouldn’t it be amazing to have a Christian Internet marketing event.”

The thought never left me, and as a matter of fact, I began to plan it out. I couldn’t stop thinking about the fellowship of marketers not only connecting because of the Internet, but because of their love for Christ. Worshiping with famous marketers and encouraging others to step out in faith where God has called them… see you got me going!

Well, this guy Alejandro contacted me on skype after watching “The Next Internet Millionaire”. We began to talk and the topic of a Christian IM event came up… Alejandro had the same vision. After talking for a while I encouraged him to take it on.

He passionately responded to the encouragement! It is finally here!

Illuminate Conference will be making it’s debut. Not only that, but I will be speaking at the event.

Here is what I want you to do… go check out the site and read up about the event. I can’t tell you how many people (especially Christians) ask me about getting started on the Internet. So if that’s you this is the absolute best way to get started… especially if you’re a Christian. If you are already marketing online then you’ve got to check out the speaker list (insane!).
Click here now to check out Illuminate Conference!

Then come on back and let me know what you think by commenting below.

Hopefully I’ll see you there!

Start with your passions!

I have been inspired! And the coolest thing is … it was my wife.

My wife Heather has started her very own blog called “The Striving Wife“. But before we talk about it let’s go back in time.

One of the first steps I teach in starting an online business is to discover your passions. Find what it is you would do regardless of whether you were getting paid.  What drives you?

Well my wife and I have been doing some searching and let’s just say … she found her passion! She loves to write and her goal is to be the best biblical wife possible. She also enjoys connecting with other women and helping them… so her blog was a no brainer!

Go check it out and tell all the wives or future wives you know about it! Get the word out!

I am very proud of her and her pursuit of her passions and hey… she may become a professional blogger.

What a month! Phew, July was busy.

Well, although the end of July basically means the summer is almost over, I am happy its over. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed everything I did this month … it was just a lot.

Let’s start with the film I am in. A local Pastor wrote a film last year, and I got to do a small role in it. The name of the film is Christopia. It made it to some film festivals and got him excited to do another one.

This time he asked me to be one of the leads. Yeah not just a lead … but Jesus! Oh man that’s some pressure. How do you play the King of Kings, the Creator of the Universe, the perfect spotless lamb?????

Well after months of studying my lines, the filming process began. I spent over 20 hours on set between 2 weekends. The whole time I had to have a beard which for continuity I had to make sure it was the same length, as well as my hair. So I set my clippers to the same setting and trimmed everything right before filming.

Between filming I was studying for skits my wife and I did at a huge youth event in Wildwood, NJ. The event is called “A Closer Walk”. About 2,000 people camped out on the beach and enjoyed the beach, water parks, rides, and programs. This was my 3rd summer emceeing the event.

This year they wanted to add a drama/skit element to the event… so, loving that stuff, my wife and I accepted. The skits we use mostly come from an incredible group called “onetimeblind” (www.onetimeblind.com). They are absolutely amazing! Christian dramas and skits (like Christian music) started out so-so… but is coming on strong.

We did one skit each night and they tied in with each other. The first night we performed “The Stool” and the second night “Trust Fall”. Jack Redmond was the speaker and he did a phenomenal job piggybacking off of the skits. We are already looking forward to next year!

All this was on top of our normal working schedule and church service. Phew!

Let me know how your summer is going… is it busier than your winter???? Comment below!

One Year Since “The Next Internet Millionaire”

Internet Marketing, My Life No Comments »

That’s right, one year ago I was stepping off an airplane in Colorado, meeting Joel Comm and the other contestants for the first time, with no clue as to how it was all going to turn out for me. Wow! I can’t believe it’s already been a year. But at the same time it feels like soooo long ago. So I guess the big question is … what’s happened since, and how has the show helped me?

Well, where do I start? As you know, if you watched the show, I am not looking to gain boat-loads of money. So finding a project that I want to sink my teeth into has been hard. Actually, the “ideas” have come too many, too fast. There was a point where I had about Read the rest of this entry »

Back in February Petey’s art teacher had them do a project where the students had to design the google logo for a contest.

The objective was to finish the phrase “What if…”. The students were encouraged to think BIG.

So Petey began to brainstorm some ideas… and then it hit us… Read the rest of this entry »
